Working With Grids & Exporting
Every table on the Analytics dashboard — the breakdowns and the detail tables — is a fully featured grid with the same set of controls. This page explains the controls that apply to all of them.
Sorting
Click any column header to sort the grid by that column. Click the same header again to reverse the sort direction between ascending and descending.
Searching
Each grid has its own search box. Type into it to filter the visible rows in real time to those containing your search text. The search applies only to the grid it belongs to and does not change your dashboard filters.
note
The grid search is a quick way to find rows within the data already on screen. To change which data is included on the dashboard at all, use the filter bar instead.
Paging
Grids display a set number of rows per page with paging controls beneath them. Use the page numbers to move through the data, and the records count to see how many rows matched.
Export Buttons
Above each grid is a row of export buttons:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Copy | Copies the grid contents to your clipboard, ready to paste into another application. |
| CSV | Downloads the grid as a .csv file. |
| Excel | Downloads the grid as an Excel (.xlsx) workbook. |
| Downloads the grid as a PDF document (laid out in landscape). | |
| Opens a printer-friendly version of the grid in a new window. |
Exports include the grid's current data based on your active dashboard filters.
note
On narrower screens, some export buttons may be hidden to save space. Widen your browser window or rotate your device to reveal the full set.
Choosing the Right Tool
- Use Copy for a quick paste into an email or chat.
- Use CSV or Excel when you want to analyse the data further in a spreadsheet, or to pull a row-level extract from the detail tables.
- Use PDF or Print to share a fixed, presentable snapshot.
Next Steps
- Return to the Analytics overview.
- Reference the metrics glossary for definitions of every figure you might export.
